WTF

12 August race

Written 13th August

I'm in Korea with the Hokkaido team for a 3 day stage race. We spent 15 hours getting here - train, plane, bus, plane, car...

This morning we were a little tired but as ready as we could be.

The race was 3 laps of a 33km course, fairly flat but with a series of short and not-so-steep hills. We started at about 10 o'clock and it started to rain really heavily immediately and didn't stop. There were about 60 riders.

The pace was extremely high and there were non-stop attacks from the start. I rode in the main bunch which finished shortly after a 2 man breakaway. So did the rest of the team, which is good. Everyone is pretty strong this year.

I was really happy with the ride and although I was tired didn't have any cramps. There was no way I could sprint like the Koreans did though! I finished at the end of the bunch.

My HR meter didn't work at all. I'll put the rest of the data on when I get a chance later.

Race in Naju, Korea
Distance = 100 km
Bike time = 2hr 20min
Ride time = 2hr 20min
Avg speed = 43 km/hr
Max speed = 74 km/hr
Avg HR = ??? BPM
Max HR = ??? BPM
2008 total = 9108 km
